Square Wave by Ivan Black is a unique piece of kinetic art made by connecting 24 metal rods and inspired by the Fibonacci sequence, the basic structure that is the makeup of every living thing. Spin it to get surprised by a series of mind-bending optical illusions, and unexpected hypnotizing revolutions. Designed in the UK, each Square Wave is handmade and combines iconic natural forms with mathematical formulae. Each bend and curl of the material is precisely calibrated to create a seamlessly integrated mechanism. It is both a sculpture and a soothing, relaxing fidget spinner, ideal to combat stress, or even boost your creativity.

Square Wave is the result of extensive prototyping and iterations. Tiny handmade tweaks and adjustments were made in order to find the smoothest balance between the weight and length of each metal rod. The second step was converting this artisanal method into a replicable process. In order to do so we relied on world class artisans, with decades of experience. Square Wave is assembled by hand, making each one unique. Each and every Square Wave is made in Italy, exclusively EU high quality certified materials and paints. Made of steel, they can be used inside or outside.
