Silicone Rubber - Platinum Cure, also known as addition-cure silicone mold rubber, exhibit the lowest long-term shrinkage and have the longest library life of all mold rubbers. While good for making molds for casting a variety of materials, platinums also have application and physical properties that other rubbers do not. Some are certified “skin safe” and can be applied directly to human skin. They are also used for making prosthetic and orthotic devices, skin safe appliances and effects, etc. Some are certified “food safe” for culinary applications.

Mold Star™ silicones cure to soft, strong rubbers which are tear resistant and exhibit very low long term shrinkage. Molds made with Mold Star™ will last a long time in your mold library and are good for casting wax, gypsum, resins, concrete and other materials. Cured Mold Star™ rubber is heat resistant up to 450°F (232°C) and is suitable for casting low-temperature melt metal alloys.

Dragon Skin™ silicones are used for a variety of applications, ranging from creating skin effects and other movie special effects to making production molds for casting a variety of materials. Due to their superior physical properties and flexibility, they are also used for medical prosthetics and cushioning applications.

Ecoflex™ rubbers are available in several different hardness. They are suitable for a variety of applications including making prosthetic appliances, cushioning for orthotics and special effects applications (especially in animatronics where repetitive motion is required). Some Ecoflex™ products are also certified Skin Safe.

Sorta-Clear™ is a water translucent silicone rubber, and is ideal for making prototype, jewelry or other molds of any configuration where model visibility is important. Sorta-Clear™ 18, 37, and 40 silicones are food safe and suitable for making molds used in baking or other applications used to produce food.
