FUJIFILM PRESCALE

PRESSURE INDICATING FILM

Graphic examples of how Prescale can be used

Fujifilm Prescale is a disposable pressure sensitive film. It consists of two layers. One layer is coated with tiny microcapsules and the other with a developing substance. It is available for 7 different pressure ranges. Cut into pieces and place between the surfaces on which you want to see the pressure distribution. Squeeze the surfaces together and then remove the film. You can see in a red scale how the pressure is distributed over the surface.

The film is used in many industries, such as the pulp & paper, automotive, aerospace, medical and machinery industries. Applications include the measurement of pressure on gaskets in assemblies, and the connection between heat sinks and underlaying surfaces, orthopedic shoes, among many others.

It is available from CalTech SE
