Welcome to the 2024-25 Academic Year

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we begin the new academic year, the Board of Governors at Lusaka Oaktree School is pleased to extend a warm welcome to all our returning students, parents, and guardians, as well as the new members joining our community. We are honored to have you as part of the Lusaka Oaktree School family.

Focus on Academic Excellence and Student Achievement

Our commitment to academic excellence remains at the heart of our mission. This year, we are intensifying our efforts to recognize and celebrate student achievements. We are dedicated to creating an environment where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential. With our updated academic standards policy, we have set clear expectations for excellence, and we are committed to providing the support necessary for all students to meet and exceed these standards.

Throughout the academic year, we will recognize and reward students who embody our values of diligence, dedication, and a love for learning. We believe that celebrating these achievements will inspire all students to strive for their personal best and realize that excellence is within everyone's reach.

Additionally, we are introducing mandatory Leadership Camps and a unique Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Service Learning curriculum. These initiatives are designed to nurture the whole child, fostering leadership skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and a strong sense of community service. We are confident these programs will significantly contribute to our students' personal growth and prepare them for future success.

Infrastructural Improvements

We are pleased to share that Lusaka Oaktree School has made significant improvements to our campus facilities. This includes the expansion of our library, additional classrooms, a new performing arts space, and the addition of new sporting facilities, including a soccer pitch and a volleyball court. These upgrades are designed to enhance our students' learning experience and foster their growth in both academics and extracurricular activities.

Management Restructure to Support Strategic Focus Areas

To better support our focus on academic excellence and student well-being, we have restructured the school’s management. This restructuring includes the appointment of a School-wide Principal of Academics and a Principal of Pastoral Care, who will oversee key areas such as curriculum delivery and student welfare. These leaders, along with Heads of Departments (HODs), lead teachers, and coordinators, will work together to ensure that our academic and pastoral care programs are implemented with the highest standards of excellence.

Emphasizing Excellence and Discarding Mediocrity

We are deeply committed to fostering a culture of excellence at Lusaka Oaktree School. This year, we are focusing on "being deliberate" in all our actions—setting high expectations, being intentional in our efforts, and consistently striving for the highest standards. Our determination to reject mediocrity is reflected in every aspect of our school’s operations, ensuring that our commitment to excellence is evident in everything we do.

We strongly encourage all parents and guardians to use the official communication channels established by Lusaka Oaktree School for any concerns or queries. These channels ensure that you receive accurate and timely information. The school management is always available to address your concerns, provide updates, and respond to constructive feedback. We value open communication and encourage your involvement in helping us maintain a positive and informed school community.
