“..And the truth shall set you free” - John 8:32
Dear Parents,
Let us explore the different kinds of truth in a school student’s life today. And the challenges those truths present.
There is peer pressure. Truth.
There are expectations to live up to. Truth.
There is comparison and competition. Truth.
There is constant physical and sociological change. Truth.
There is insecurity about who one actually is. Truth.
There is confusion because of differing messages different adults deliver. Truth.
There is now the virtual world to deal with. Truth.
There is information overload to deal with. Truth.
And hence there is the fear of missing out. Truth.
In a world where yesterdays are becoming obsolete as fast as the last version of the iPhone, your children are braving a lot. In this frenetic world where ‘upgrade’ is the abiding chant, they are being heroic every time they smile.
Which is why we need to provide them much more warmth and friendship and patience and active love than we were bestowed as children. Yes, their world is tougher. Which is what makes all the non-academic aspects of school and home life as critical as academia, if not more.
Hence innovations like the Spirit Week and Friendship and Kindness Day we just had - ideated totally by our student leaders and co-constructed by them into action. Into acts of kindness and celebration and hope - acts that make the challenges of growing up a little easier to handle.
I seriously thought this needed a contextual explanation, and I am proud to have explained. As much as we are doing everything to uphold our default setting which is academic excellence, we are equally invested in and equally proud of all the wellness and holistic activities we are immersing ourselves in.
The tangibles and measurables will speak for themselves. It is the intangible that really needs a voice, because its impact is immeasurable.
And the EYD Sports Day was such a joy. We are grateful to all the parents who support the event by being there and further enlivening the proceedings.
Warm regards,
Shouquot Hussain
Head of School
Without discipline, learning cannot be achieved. To help you set the discipline of study time for our learners in LS1 to LS3, we have started to post homework on WhatsApp groups. This will also give you an idea of learning that is happening in different subjects.
Homework should be done in a quiet place, supervised as much as possible so that the time is used properly, and with minimum or no help from the adults at home. A study desk and a chair will help in focusing. Please get in touch with the teachers if there is any doubt about any task.
We understand that the journey through school is not just about academic growth, but also about emotional, social, and mental development. Pastoral care plays a vital role in ensuring that students feel supported, valued, and understood. As partners in your child’s education, your role is crucial in promoting their well-being. Here are some of the ways which can help you:
Open Communication: Encourage your child to talk openly about their day, their emotions, and any challenges they might be facing. Listening actively can provide them with a safe space to express themselves.
Support Emotional Development: Be patient and supportive when they face setbacks or tough situations. Reinforce the importance of resilience and managing emotions in a healthy way.
Encourage Healthy Routines: Ensure they have a balanced routine with enough time for rest, study, play, and socializing. Healthy habits build a foundation for well-being.
Foster Positive Relationships: Help your child build and maintain healthy friendships. Encourage kindness, empathy, and respectful communication.
Be Involved: Attend school events, keep in touch with teachers and pastoral staff, and stay informed about any changes or programs that support your child’s growth.
Be a Positive Role Model: Demonstrate the value of self-care, stress management, and the importance of asking for help when needed.
Together, we can ensure your child not only excels academically but also grows into a confident, resilient, and well-rounded individual. Thank you for your ongoing support.
UNIFORM SHOP
We would like to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of students wearing the correct school uniform. The school uniform is not just a reflection of our school's identity, but it also plays an important role in promoting a sense of unity, discipline, and pride among our students.
We kindly ask for your support in ensuring that your child wears the correct uniform every day. This includes wearing all required items such as the correct shirt, trousers/skirt, shoes, socks, and any additional accessories that are part of the uniform policy.
We understand that there may occasionally be reasons for non-compliance, such as temporary shortages of uniform items, and we encourage you to inform the school in such cases so that we can work together to address any issues.
By upholding our uniform policy, we help foster an environment of equality, professionalism, and focus that supports all of our students in achieving their best. We truly appreciate your continued cooperation and support in this matter.
Thank you for your understanding and commitment to helping us maintain a positive school culture.

CP4A’s Assembly
The week culminated in an impressive assembly presented by CP4A, which was a comprehensive and engaging programme. The students educated us about verbs, the food chain in science, and even treated us to a traditional musical performance where they sang, danced, and played the accompanying instruments themselves. Additionally, they delivered another impressive dance performance that showcased their talents and enthusiasm.
We're grateful for the opportunities our students have to express themselves, learn, and grow together. A big thank you to the secondary school student council for organizing the Spirit Week and to CP4A for their outstanding assembly. In addition to our academic achievements, IGCSE1A recently hosted an inspiring assembly under the theme of Love. The event showcased the students' creativity and dedication through various performances, including a heartfelt poem, a vibrant dance, and a touching song that reinforced the significance of love and kindness in our lives.
A major highlight of the assembly was the recognition of students who participated in the Model United Nations. Certificates were awarded to all participants, with special honors given to outstanding delegates who demonstrated exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and critical thinking skills.
This assembly was a celebration of talent, unity, and the power of love, reminding us all of the importance of fostering a compassionate and supportive community. We commend our students for their hard work and look forward to more such inspiring events in the future!

Expanding Horizons:
UAE and Malaysia Universities Inspire A-Level Students
Our A-Level students recently had a unique opportunity to explore global education options as our school welcomed representatives from leading universities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Malaysia. This engaging event was designed to equip students with in-depth knowledge about international academic pathways, scholarship opportunities, and the transformative experience of studying abroad.
The visiting representatives delivered insightful presentations on the academic excellence, career prospects, and vibrant student life offered by their institutions. They highlighted key advantages such as world-class faculty, cutting-edge research facilities, strong industry partnerships, and globally accredited degree programs. Students were particularly drawn to disciplines like business, engineering, medicine, and information technology—fields where both the UAE and Malaysia have established themselves as global leaders.
A major highlight of the event was the interactive Q&A session, where students posed thoughtful questions about application procedures, tuition fees, internship opportunities, and cultural adaptation. Personalized consultations allowed students to explore tailored study plans, while discussions on visa processes and accommodation made the transition to international education seem both practical and exciting.
Many students left the event with newfound inspiration and a broader perspective on their future. "I never realized how many opportunities Malaysia offers for international students, especially in technology and healthcare!" shared one enthusiastic student. Another remarked, "The UAE has incredible internship programs that could give me a head start in my career. This event truly expanded my options."
With university application deadlines fast approaching, this session proved to be a crucial stepping stone in guiding students toward informed decisions. By fostering direct engagement with esteemed institutions, our school reaffirms its commitment to preparing students for successful global academic pursuits.
As part of our ongoing efforts to broaden academic horizons, we look forward to hosting more university fairs, career workshops, and mentorship programs. The world is full of opportunities, and our students are ready to embrace them!
EYD Sports Day
The EYD section gave us a great start to the sports days as the little ones competed against each other all the while supporting each other. The day was full of excitement, which was only heightened by the race between parents and teachers. The races had a number of tumbles from both parents and teachers but alas, the parent's relay teams managed to beat the teachers. After leading for most of the way the Blue House heartbreakingly lost the lead in the final few races and Yellow House emerged victorious. The final score saw Red House in third place with 267 points, Blue House in second with 278, and the 2025 EYD champions, Yellow House with 296 points. We look forward to seeing the other inter-house competitions.
ISAZ Fixtures
Our teams have prepared, and now the time has come for them to be tested. Every week a team will compete in a competition in either football or netball at various levels. Our first team to go and compete at ISAZ was the U14 girl's netball team that went to ISL. The girls played a competitive series of games against former champions Martin House College, current Champions LICS, and steady climbing Crested Cranes Academy. The competition was stiff and the girls did not make it past the group stage. Overall, it was a good outing for the girls and we look forward to them being a force to be reckoned with.
The U14 soccer girls also played their first competition this weekend at Baobab College and had a great outing for a 10-man squad. More details to follow in our next newsletter.
Friendlies
The junior boys team continues to impress. The team traveled to Indian School for a U14 boys-friendly fixture that saw the boys emerge victorious over the hosts. The boys managed to end the day with a 12 – 2 victory away. We are eager to see how they will fare at the upcoming ISAZ competition.
Sports Day Announcements
The excitement continues to build within the school as we head towards our sports days. We would like to encourage all our parents to come and show your support for the children as they run, jump, shoot, score and showcase their talents and skills on this year's sports day. Kindly ensure that learners have the right house colours to wear during the Inter-House Competitions. In the event that the selected size is unavailable [from the school], a solid colour shirt resembling the house colour (either red, blue or yellow shirt) may be worn to the sports days.
