Dear Parents/Guardians,
Thank you for being so supportive generally with all our endeavours and initiatives. This includes the infrastructural expansion (new academic block), curricular expansion (CheckPoint exams for CP and LS), non sporting competitions (MUN, Debate, Spelling Bee - in addition to Scholar’s Cup), social skills (TEDx and DoE). and more.
Thank you for helping us integrate these necessary growth elements into the academic fabric of your children, and for recognizing that to make our learners well rounded individuals - this integration is key.
Now, as we begin to wind down the year and head towards examinations and assessments, and as the focus narrows to academia, we request the same understanding and support from you. Let us all make it comfortable in all ways possible, the management of the stress and and the anxiety during the next month or so.
Warm regards
Shouquot Hussain
Head of School
Although there is a growing appreciation for holistic learning and the value of a broad curriculum, subjects like Art and Music are often still undervalued. Many students echo sentiments such as, “My parents said it’s okay if I don’t finish my art assignment,” which reflects this lingering mindset.
Our Board Chair made a powerful point in our last year’s graduation speech—a message I often share. He said, “When I was studying history and geography in high school, I questioned why I needed those subjects. Later, I realized they taught me resilience. They trained my mind to learn even when the subject wasn’t my favorite.” This insight is crucial for all students to understand.
Subjects that may seem less important today actually help us develop discipline, strong study habits, a growth mindset, and the perseverance to tackle tasks we may not enjoy. These are essential life skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
I encourage you to engage your child in conversations about what they are learning in every subject, including Art and Music. Let’s not only value the content knowledge but also recognize the broader skills these experiences foster—skills that shape us into better learners and lifelong learners.
As the cold weather sets in, we kindly remind you to ensure that your child comes to school appropriately dressed to stay warm and healthy during this season.
Please make sure your child wears:
A warm jacket or sweater (Lusaka Oaktree fleece or blazer)
Gloves and scarves (where needed)
Closed shoes with socks
Staying warm helps students stay comfortable and focused in class, and also helps prevent illnesses commonly associated with the cold. If your child is feeling unwell, we encourage you to keep them at home and seek medical advice as needed.
We appreciate your continued support in keeping our learners safe and healthy. If you have any concerns or need assistance, please feel free to contact the school.
Guest Speaker Dr. Shabana Inspires Students in an Interactive Session
We were delighted to wrap up our mental wellbeing week with a session led by Dr. Shabana, a GP from the Health and wellness Centre at Sandy’s Creation Resort.Dr. Shabana spoke candidly about tough emotions and how unexpressed feelings can sometimes lead to challenging behaviour. She encouraged students to recognise their emotions.
In addition to emotional wellbeing, Dr. Shabana shared valuable tips on how students can reduce their academic stress by improving in the two major subjects in school English and Math. She shared simple strategies that students can apply in their daily studies like practicing math daily and being avid readers. She also addressed the important issue of bullying, giving students practical advice on how to handle such situations with confidence and kindness.
The session became even more exciting when gifts were handed out to all participants, making the experience even more memorable! Huge thank you to Dr Shabana for her time.

Telling Time with Creativity
Our students have been busy learning and creating! In their math class, CP Two they have been mastering the art of telling time. They have been practicing counting in five-minute intervals. To put their new skills into practice, they designed and created their own beautiful clocks. It was wonderful to see their creativity shine through in their time-telling masterpieces!
Exploring modes of Transportation
Meanwhile, CP One has been exploring different modes of transportation in their Global Perspectives class. They learned about various ways to travel, including water transport, land transport, and air transport.
