And that is the way it went. With these intensely deep thinkers and feelers. 13 ultimately made it to the final list, out of a list of many times that number. After a rigorous and killing period of practice and preparation, they finally took the stage on Friday the 9th of October - along with four influential adult speakers. And they made our hair stand on end. They shook our world. They woke us up out of our complacency. And you will all be able to watch them on youtube in about 3 weeks’ time - after TED.com has vetted them and posted them for the whole world to see. Below are a couple of comments from members of the live audience:
“It was a fantastic event! We were all saying how impressed we were by all the students. You should be extremely proud, they were incredible ambassadors for the school. Just incredible.”
Amy Cardoso, Head of Martin House College.
“Your students were amazing. The topics were relatable, and I feel many students would benefit when hearing their own age group express about the challenges they face in their lives. Our students and us were left inspired. It was a breath of fresh air,”
Sahima Patel, Head of Qurrat Academy
Congratulations to all student presenters and their parents, and a big thank you to all among you who enriched the event with your presence.
Warm regards
Shouquot Hussain
Head of School
Students who are taking Checkpoint exams in CP6 and LS3 will need more time to complete the syllabus on time. The students will need to be resilient as it will be a demanding time and students need to participate in the extra lessons with full focus. Please ensure that the students are getting enough sleep and healthy eating habits.
Early Years students surprise us every time in a new way in their assemblies through the display of new skills and new knowledge. Thanks to the parents who joined us this Thursday for Reception C. We look forward to seeing more parents in these assemblies.
Independence Celebrations
We shall celebrate independence on Wednesday 15th October, 2025. On this day all the students are expected to wear independence colors. Due independence celebrations on Wednesday 15th October, 2025 students will knock off half day.
Mid Term break
The school will be going on a midterm break starting Monday 20th October, 2025 and will end on 24th October, 2025. The students will report for school on Monday 27th October, 2025.
Discipline
We kindly request your support in speaking to your children about maintaining good behavior and responsibility while at school. We have recently noticed that some students have been throwing tissue paper and other materials into the toilet pans, which causes blockages and makes the facilities unpleasant for others.
Please take a moment to remind your child about the importance of cleanliness, respect for shared spaces, and proper use of school facilities. Together, we can help our students develop a sense of responsibility and care for their environment.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support in promoting good behavior and discipline among our learners.
Our Art Department is collecting plastic bottles, bottle tops, and old newspapers for upcoming student art projects. We invite parents to support this creative initiative by donating clean, recyclable materials.
- Bottle Tops / plastic and metallic
- Plastic bottles
- Old Newspaper
- Cardboards
Collection boxes will be placed at the school gate entrances for easy drop-off. Your contributions will help our students turn everyday items into inspiring works of art!
The TEDxLOTS Youth 2025 Conference, held on 9th October under the theme “Our Place in the World,” was a powerful celebration of ideas, identity, and purpose.
