Pre-Opening Checklist

Term 2 

School opens for Term 2 on 12 February,  2024  

Dear Parents,

We are excited to welcome you and your child back to Lusaka Oaktree School for the upcoming Term 2 of the academic year 2023–24! We also welcome all new students and parents to the diverse and vibrant LOTS community.

We encourage you to access the LOTS Community Hub - https://sites.google.com/lusakaoaktree.school/lotscommunity/home.

The portal provides access to the school’s policies, calendar, newsletter, contact details, and other helpful information.

To ensure a smooth transition and a successful start to the new term, we have prepared a helpful back-to-school checklist for you:

1. Complete and Submit Required Forms:

• Ensure all necessary enrollment forms, medical information, and contact details are up-to-date.

• Submit any required documents to the school office before the start of the term

2. School Fee Payment:

• Clear any outstanding school fees to ensure your child's smooth re-entry into classes.

• Ensure the Term 2 School fee is paid by the due date.

3. Uniforms and Supplies:

• Check the school's uniform policy and ensure your child has the appropriate attire.

• Purchase school supplies, textbooks, and stationery as per the provided list.

4. Health and Safety:

• Provide updated medical records and emergency contact information to the school nurse.

• Inform the school of any allergies, medical conditions, or special needs your child may have.

5. Transportation Arrangements:

• If your child will be using the school transportation service, confirm routes and timings.

• Ensure your child knows the designated pick-up and drop-off locations.

6. Academic Preparation:

• Review the school's academic calendar to be aware of important dates and events.

• Encourage your child to review their notes and materials from the previous term to prepare for new lessons.

7. Communication:

• Update your contact information to ensure you receive important school communications.

• Stay connected with the school through newsletters, emails, and the school website.

8. Parent Orientation:

• Attend any orientation sessions or meetings scheduled by the school to get acquainted with new policies, procedures, and staff.

9. Health and Hygiene:

• Remind your child about good hygiene practices, including handwashing and wearing masks if necessary.

10. Mental Preparation:

• Have a positive conversation with your child about the upcoming term, focusing on the exciting learning opportunities and new experiences.

11. After-School Activities:

• Explore the list of after-school clubs and activities available, and discuss your child's interests.
