What is gelato? Gelato is a type of ice cream that dates back centuries that comes from Italy. The difference between gelato and ice cream is that gelato is made from milk while ice cream is made from cream. As a result it is easier to add flavors and the taste is stronger or better, if you ask some people. (This author's favorite is Maine Wild Blueberry Crisp)

Now, you might think you have to travel to Italy to get world class gelato..but hold on! In the small college town of Brunswick, Maine two friends, Josh and Bruno, started their own gelato business and after years of research and practice.....WOW!!!!!! They have perfected the art of gelato making
But it doesn't stop there. Gelato Fiasco makes an effort to get all their ingredients from local farms and sources. Need strawberries? Go to the local strawberry fields and pick them. Blueberries....no problem buy from local blueberry growers...and let's face it, not much is better than wild Maine blueberries.

Flavors...so you want to know about flavors....well, if you visit the Gelato Fiasco web site you will find over 40 pages of flavors that they make in their "Flavor Vault". You can search for your favorite flavor. But....they only make 40 at a time, many flavors are seasonal, and some only make rare appearances. Don't worry though you can get an alert to your email or phone when your favorite flavor is made.
Non - Dairy
What about our friends who don't eat dairy...well, you are luck. Gelato Fiasco makes dairy free sorbetto. Sorbetto is a treat from southern Italy that is made with water instead of dairy and gets it's flavor from fruit or cocoa. And the flavors, over 12 pages of them in the "Flavor Vault" including 24 carrot Sorbetto...a combination of carrot, lemon, and orange. Or what about cucumber, lime cilantro sorbetto...try it, it will literally blow you away with the flavor!
