hope you enjoy my slide! I love ferrets and I hope you like I them to. Ferrets are loving little creatures. the black footed ferrets scientific is Mustela nigripes .

Habitat

Ferrets live in shortgrass prairie and rolling hills. Each ferret needs 100-120 acres this land is used for hunting. But a mothers need 140 acres to live. The lazy ferrets they don’t build their own homes they live in the homes of abandon prairie dogs.

Features

Females weigh between 645-850 grams. On the other side males weigh 915-1125 grams. That’s 10% larger than a female. Both have a tan body the forehead and muzzle are white. They have a black mask and black feet.

Hunting

Ferrets eat prairie dogs and sometimes other animals like mice and ground squirrels. 90% of they diet is prairie dogs. Each ferret eats 50-70 grams of meat a day that’s a lot of food. Ferrets only kill what they can eat.

Enemies

Some of the enemies of the black footed ferret are owls, eagles, hawks, coyotes, badgers, foxes and, the scary bobcat.

Behavior

Ferrets are active in night but not to much during day. They stay underground for a long time. Ferrets are curious and on alert at all times. They also have a good sense of hearing, smell and sight.
