Hi there! This is my slide on chickadees. This is about them and the things below. Chickadees are a type of bird,the certain chickadee I’m talking about is the black-capped chickadee.

Part 1.What do they look like?

Black-capped chickadees are cute little birds and have a round head and tiny body.As the name suggests, they have a black cap, and a bib.They also have a short neck and a large head.The wings are gray, as is the back as well.Their underside is sorta white.To help you get a better understanding, take a look at this picture to the right.->

Part 2.What do they eat?+what are it's calls

They eat insects, seeds and berries mostly in winter due to there being not as many insects around, there are way more insects in the summer, so chickadees eat more in the summer than the winter, it's diet in that season is lots of caterpillars, spiders, snails, and berries.They also eat dead animal fat.The calls are chickadee-dee-dee and fee-bee.The more -dee-'s in chickadee-dee-dee means a higher threat level.

This is a bird box.Bird boxes are put on trees or wooden stakes as a shelter, and a place to perch. I have a few in my wooded backyard. Chickadees live year-round in the northern part of the USA, and southern Canada.They nest in trees, woody shrubs, weedy fields, and cattail marshes.
