The overall learner leaderboard dislays the total points earned by a learner for the associated challenge instance and ranks learners at a national level. Learners can earn points by:
Submitting answers/completing challenges
Completing fair peer reviews (discretionary and mandatory)
Completing their player profile
Completing surveys
The weekly learner leaderboard dislays the total points earned by a learner in the specific week of the associated challenge instance and ranks learners at a national level (based on points earned in that specific week). A learners score on the weekly leaderboard will reset to 0 at the beginning of each new week.
The score for each school is calculated as follows:
School Score = Average Points per registered student x (1 + 1.5 x e/S + e/40)
Where e = number of "engaged players" at the school.
And S = The number of Form 1-3 learners at the school.
And An "Engaged Player" is any registered player averaging at least 150 points per week.
The more "engaged students" a school has participating in the game, the higher the multiplier for the school leaderboard.
Important Notes
A school needs to have at least 20 "engaged students" in order to display on the national school's leaderboard.
Learner engagement will only contribute to a schools leaderboard score if that learner's school join request has been approved for that school.
All
The My School "All" leaderboard tab dislays the total points earned by a learner for the associated challenge instance and ranks learners at a school level.
Classes
The My School "Classes" leaderboard tab dislays the total points earned by all the learners in a specific class for the associated challenge instance and ranks the classes at a school level.
The current school leaderboard has limitations as it is dependent on the admin teacher for a school entering in the accurate number of "Form 1-3 learners at the school". If this number is entered in error, or purposely understated, it can significantly influence the overall ranking of the school.
Further - the school leaderboard currently requires a minimum of 20 engaged learners at a school for that school to be featured on the leaderboard. This may be a high threshold for smaller schools.
