This is the training session where we equip ambassadors with all the necessary information and tools that they need in order to recruit, assist and guide teachers throughout the Wavumbuzi journey. A number of things are covered in this training in order to ensure that ambassadors feel 100% comfortable in understanding all the pieces of the puzzle that make Wavumbuzi work.
This takes place ideally around 2-3 months before the Challenge starts because the ambassadors are heavily involved in the recruitment process of the teachers which takes place about one/two months before the Challenge starts. They need to be fully trained and prepared before the recruitment process starts.
Ambassadors are representatives of Wavumbuzi and the Wavumbuzi team. They have the time and capacity to recruit teachers, visit schools and build relationships with teachers so that they can assist and help them throughout the Challenge. This is something that, at the moment, we as the Wavumbuzi team do not have the capacity and time to do. This is why we use ambassadors to do this. However, in order for them to fulfil this role, we need them to be thoroughly trained - after all, they are representing us as the brand. This is why we run these training sessions.
The training session is run by the Project Manager (PM) and Teacher Liaison (TL) (who manages the ambassadors throughout the Challenge). They are in charge of the planning, agenda, agenda items and running of the session with the help of team members to input on certain parts of the session. Examples below:
Marketing section - Marketing Team assists with this part of the presentation
Systems section - Tech team assists with this part of the presentation
Vision/Introduction of Wavumbuzi - Country Director to assist with this part of the presentation
Ambassador Training Resources:
All documents in this Ambassador info pack folder were created by the Marketing Manager and Junior Marketing Officer as they are all related to marketing items.
This is prepared for the ambassadors and shared after the training sessions for extra reading material and a recap of the sessions.
