Since development began on Wavumbuzi (formerly AGEC) in 2018, the technical team has adopted an Agile approach to align with the iterative approach the Wavumbuzi team adopted to product/programme design as they expanded into different countries in East Africa. A detailed guide on the Agile Methodology and its benefits can be found in the link provided.
After trialling multiple different tools, the team settled on using Atlassian software as a framework for implementing the Agile approach to development.
The Agile approach, as a project management methodology, breaks product development up into phases (cycles). For Wavumbuzi, these cycles have typically been positioned in between iterations of the challenge running in the respective countries within which AGGP operates.
As facilitated by the Atlassian software, the Wavumbuzi technical team employ three popular frameworks for its our Agile design approach - Sprint Planning, Scrum and Kanban.
Notes
An overview of the focus for these sprint cycles since 2018 can be found in the Sprint Cycle 2018-21 section.
