Configuring Learner Tutorials & Notifications

There are three type of notifications that can be configured for learners:

1. Learner Tutorials

2. Automated Challenge Modals

3. Manual Learner Notifications

1. Learner Tutorials

The learner tutorial module enables the super-admin to deliver tutorial contents to learners to help them better understand how to use and navigate the learner portal, complete challenge and earn points. Tutorials can contain images, videos and text content across multiple slides and are displayed when a user completes a pre-defined action in the system.

Learner Tutorials are configured in the same way as Automated Challenge Modal, in the “Modules > App Stories” section of the super-admin portal. The difference in configuring a Learner Tutorials vs. a Automated Challenge Modal (besides the framing of the content) is when they are triggered (based on their purpose).

2. Automated Challenge Modals

Automated Challenge Modals are special notifications that appear at important points in the user journey to build a story narrative that drives purpose and interaction. These notifications can contain images, videos and text content across multiple slides and are displayed when a user completes a pre-defined action in the system.

Automated Challenge Modals are configured in the same way as Learner Tutorials, in the “Modules > App Stories” section of the super-admin portal. The difference in configuring a Learner Tutorials vs. a Automated Challenge Modal (besides the framing of the content) is when they are triggered (based on their purpose).

3. Manual Learner Notifications

The learner notifications module is used to create and send once-off notifications to learners. Learner notifications can either contain an image with a subject, or can contain text based content.

Learners can view notifications in their notification inbox by clicking the 'message' icon in the bottom toolbar of the learner portal. Notifications can also be configured to display the next time a learner logs in to the learner portal (by checking the "popup" configuration).

Learner notifications will be sent to all active learners in the system. There is currently no ability to segment which learners will receive learner notifications.

Learner tutorials are configured in the “Modules > Send Notification” section of the super-admin portal. The super-admin first selects the type of notification they would like to send, then enters the contents for that notification, before hitting send.
