There are three types of badges that can be configured in the system, each of which have a unique set of configurable criteria that need to be met in order for the badge to be awarded to a user.
Weekly badges are configured for a specific week of the challenge period, and are issued based on a user submitting a pre-defined number of submissions within that week period. Typically three badges (bronze, silver, gold) are configured for each week of the challenge with an incremental number of challenge submissions (e.g. 3, 6, 9) required to be awarded the respective badges.
Top 100 badges are awarded for a specific week of the challenge period, and are issued to the top 100 learners (learners who earned the most points in that week) for that week.
The average points badges are awarded for achieving a minimum number of points throughout the entire challenge period across a pre-defined selection of challenges. Typically several badges (e.g. rookie, amateur, semi-pro, pro) are configured for each quest within the challenge period with an incremental minimum number of points (e.g. 1000, 3000, 5000) required to be awarded the respective badges. These badges are typically used to reward different levels of mastery (performance) within each quest.

All badges require both finalised and placeholder (silhouette) artwork which must be produced prior to configuration and stored in the media repository on the super-admin portal.
