Commissioning Enphase Systems with the Installer Toolkit

Accessing the Installer App

1. Update and Login:

   • Ensure you have the latest version of the Enphase Installer app from the app store.

   • Verify you're logged in as a user for your company.

   • Check that your Envoy software and grid profiles are up to date.

2. System Setup:

   • Open the Installer app and refresh the list of systems.

   • Search for the system you're commissioning. If it’s not pre-created, create a new system by tapping the plus sign and entering the details.

Defining Devices and Arrays

1. Add Devices:

   • Enter the quantities of each device (Envoy, microinverters, batteries, system controllers).

   • Scan the serial numbers using the app.

2. Create an Array:

   • Use the Array Builder to define and name your array (e.g., Array 1 with 2 rows and 5 columns).

   • Map scanned serial numbers to specific positions within the array.

3. Scan Additional Devices:

   • Continue scanning serial numbers for batteries and system controllers.

   • Specify system configurations (e.g., partial home backup, CT placement).

Manual Override and Envoy Connectivity

1. Disable Manual Override:

   • Access the manual override switch behind the dead front of the nPower system.

   • Follow the steps in the app to de-energize the system if needed.

2. Connect to Envoy:

   • Press the AP mode button on Envoy.

   • Connect your phone to the Envoy network and enter the Wi-Fi password.

Provisioning and Meter Configuration

1. Provision Devices:

   • Start provisioning in the app, allowing it to update grid profiles, tariffs, and program the Envoy.

2. Configure Meters:

   • Set up production and consumption meters by following prompts to verify readings and system configurations.

Functional Validation

1. Test System Operations:

   • Use the app to switch the system between grid-connected and microgrid modes.

   • Verify proper operation of PV production, backup loads, and battery function.

   • Add loads to test microgrid stability and reconnect to the grid to finalize validation.

Completing Commissioning

1. Final Steps:

   • Confirm the system transitions back on grid and complete the functional validation.

   • Begin the full system software update process.

   • Use the system summary report for verification and record-keeping.
