Typically lengthy/ substantive
Published quarterly rather than weekly or monthly
Feature charts and graphs to support a study's methodology and procedure (no pretty images)
List references (sometimes several pages)
EBSCO's Academic Search Premier is a user-friendly database for scholarly research. Be sure to check the full-text and peer-review search options!
JSTOR is a vast scholarly database, but its search results can be cumbersome to filter and sort. Stick with EBSCO, and use JSTOR as a backup .
