PART III: RESEARCH THE BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERISM TO CREATE A VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF YOUR FINDINGS

STEP 1

Conduct a basic Google search.

Ex: benefits of volunteerism

advantages of community service work

STEP 2

Identify a reliable source of information that contains some data, statistics, etc. that you can visually represent.

Ex: For Happiness And Career Growth, Consider The Power Of Volunteering by Tracy Brower, PhD (Forbes)

This excerpt, along with several others in the article, provides statistics that can be represented visually. The article was written by an author with a PhD in sociology, for a reputable publication called Forbes, which is an American business magazine founded in the early 1900s.

STEP 3

Use the platform of your choice (Canva, Venngage, etc.) to create a visual that represents your findings. Be sure to write all text in Spanish, and include a citation to indicate where your information was found ("Fuente").

PART IV: IDENTIFY SIMILAR VOLUNTEERISM IN A SPANISH-SPEAKING COUNTRY FOR LOCAL COMPARISON

STEP 1

Determine search terms in Spanish for your type of volunteer work/organization.

Ex: refugio de animales

organización de bienestar animal

STEP 2

Add the name of the country you'd like to target (or the domain code for that country in the format site:.xx) and do a Google search.

Ex: refugio de animales Spain

organización de bienestar animal site:.es

STEP 3

Identify a website or some other source (i.e. a news article) from that country so that you can start comparing their work to ours.

This website is for an animal shelter in Spain, founded in 1996, that specializes in caring for abandoned, neglected, and/or abused cats and dogs.
