The Great Kindness Challenge
The Grade Four students were so excited to participate in The Great Kindness Challenge. It is one week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible. The students eagerly accepted various challenges each day to spread love and show that KINDNESS MATTERS!
Following are the daily challenges our class participated in:
Monday - Be KIND to Yourself
Take a mindful breath
Drink water
Pat yourself on the back
Celebrate something new that you have learned
Write an Acrostic Poem using your name and selecting words or phrases that represent you
Tuesday - Be KIND to Family Members
Leave a family member a sweet note to find
Ask someone about their day
Find a job that needs to be done
Give someone a hug
Wednesday - Be KIND to Classmates
Give a classmate a high five
Say good morning to 5 classmates
Invite a classmate to play with you at lunch or recess
Thank a classmate for their KINDNESS
Make a class kindness chain
Thursday - Be KIND to Your Friends
Tell a friend a joke and make them laugh
Invite a friend to sit with you at lunch
Call or message a friend you haven’t seen in a while
Undercover Kindness Agent
Friday - Be KIND to Your Neighbours
Smile and wave at a neighbor when you cross paths
Offer to help them complete a chore
Tell your neighbor how much you appreciate them or leave them a note
Community Service Project - Build a bird feeder
Skating
The students participated in another week of skating over at the Dale Fisher Arena. They had a great time skating and have all improved so much over the past few days. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who joined us at the arena this week. We appreciated all of the help both on and off the ice!
