Nutrition and Healthy Eating
Nutrition and Healthy Eating
The students participated in class discussions and activities about healthy eating and prioritizing nutrition to support their well-being and physical wellness. They explored nutrition and its influence on health. Students developed an understanding of nutrients and their impact on how their body feels. They studied a variety of food labels and explored their purpose and importance. As a concluding activity, the students were challenged to bring a healthy lunch that contained balanced food choices from the three food groups (fruits/vegetables, proteins, and whole grains).

Social Thinking and Me
Social Thinking and Me
On Wednesday Ms. Aleisha joined our class to present the third lesson on “Social Thinking and Me.” She focused on “thinking with your eyes,” and how this involves looking at a situation to figure out the meaning of what we are seeing. Mr. Aleisha also discussed the importance of understanding “hidden rules and expected behaviours” in any given situation. The students enjoyed being presented with different scenarios in which they were asked to identify possible “expected” and “unexpected” behaviours.
