As part of the Waste and Our World unit in science, the students explored why soil is important to life and how the compost life cycle creates quality soil that is good for growing. After listening to a book and watching a few videos about soil and composting, the students enjoyed creating their own Composting Life Cycle poster.

The students enjoyed participating in the annual Terry Fox Walk on Thursday. Thank you so much to the Devon’s Lions Club and Independent Grocers for donating apples and granola bars for the students to enjoy after the walk. In class we discussed how Terry Fox was a Canadian hero. Then the students were asked to write about a time in their lives when they had to use determination, generosity or strength.
