As a follow up activity, the students were asked to think about what peace means to them. They used these ideas to write a poem entitled "Peace Is." The students also completed a quick art project where they cut heart shaped petals from cardstock and arranged them to create a poppy. They finished them off with a black button in the center. The projects were on display in the gymnasium for the Remembrance Day ceremony.

Region Resources and Alternative Energy Presentation
This week in Social Studies, we dove further into the study of Alberta’s regions by learning about the resources located around the province. We cut and paste the symbols that represented Alberta major natural resources into the appropriate areas. The students also worked in partners and were assigned either wind, hydro or solar energy to research. They compiled their ideas onto a slide and added pictures to present to the class.
