Dually Served Students taking ACCESS for ELLs
If a student with an IEP has an English Proficiency Code that deems them eligible to take the ACCESS for ELLs test , ACCESS for ELLs must be documented on the IEP whether the student has accommodations for the assessment or not.

Reminders from the November General Meeting
Students in grades K-12 with an English proficiency level of “1.0-6.0” or “A1-A3” will participate in the annual ELP assessment.
Students coded as an “AW” are not yet completely identified as a multilingual learner. Proper identification screening must occur before determining eligibility for English language acquisition services and ELP testing. (Please check all students coded as AW).
Students in 3-year-old and 4-year-old kindergarten do not take the annual ELP assessment regardless of their English proficiency level. Students who have previously met the exit criteria and are coded as “M1-M4” or “8 Former EL” do not continue to take the annual ELP assessment. Students who did not qualify for English language acquisition services based on their initial screener are coded as “8 Never EL” and do not take the annual ELP assessment.
Test Coordinator Manuals (TCMs) and Test Administrator Manuals (TAMs) will arrive in schools around November 18th.
