WIDA ELD Standards Framework
WIDA ELD Standards Collaborative Workgroup Cohort:
The WIDA English Language Development Standards Framework, 2020 Edition, are the South Carolina State Board of Education adopted state standards for students identified as multilingual learners (MLs). The Multilingual Education Team (MET) recognizes the need to support educators working their way through WIDA's six-module eLearning course entitled, The WIDA ELD Standards Framework: A Collaborative Approach (available in the WIDA Secure Portal).
Collaborative workgroup sessions will help educators synthesize the module materials to be used in their educational environment through discussion, activities, and support as they learn to:
identify the purpose and function of the components of the WIDA ELD Standards Framework,
describe ways to use the components of the WIDA ELD Standards Framework, and
create a unit of study which incorporates language objectives appropriate for each WIDA language proficiency level.
The January 2022 WIDA ELD Standards Framework Collaborative Workgroup will meet on the second and fourth Thursday from January - March from 3:30 - 4:30 pm.

Registration for February and March collaborative workgroups will open on January 10, 2022.

The February 2022 WIDA ELD Standards Framework Collaborative Workgroup will meet on the second and fourth Monday from February – April from 3:30 - 4:30 pm.

There will be two March 2022 WIDA ELD Standards Framework Collaborative Workgroups.
Group One will meet on the first and third Monday from March-May from 4:00-5:00 pm.

Updates and Reminders
The Testing Window for ACCESS for ELLs is January 24, 2022-March 11, 2022
***Please check with your School Test Coordinator for ACCESS for ELLs to determine which Tests you will administer.
You will need to certify or recertify in for the assessments that you will administer.

Kindergarten ACCESS for ELLs (given to K5 MLs)
ACCESS for ELLs Online Grades 1-12
ACCESS for ELLs Paper (given to MLs with paper administration listed on an IEP or 504 Plan; all 4 domains are administered on paper) to become certified for the paper training you must also certify in Speaking Scoring. (see links below)
Alternate ACCESS for ELLs (given to MLs with significant cognitive disabilities; must be listed in the IEP; K5 students with Alternate ACCESS listed in the IEP will take the 1st grade Alternate ACCESS)
