When using the State Accommodations Report (by test) from ELLevation, admin and/or STCs need to collaborate with the MLP Teachers to confirm testing accommodations listed for accuracy.
Reclassification/Exiting and ACCESS 2024 Individual Score Reports
MLs will not be reclassified/exited until after the Power School roll over. Reclassification/Exiting is officially completed via the MLP Office in collaboration with Power School. Individual Score sheets are required for compliance aspects in August. The individual score sheets should be securely stored for the summer and shared directly with the MLP teacher at the start of the school year. MLP teachers are trained on their distribution and further processes.

Teams that Celebrate Together, Accelerate Together Form
Please share your celebrations with us! We love to hear all of the wonderful things going on in your classrooms!
See below for a celebration from Marie-Conceptia Girault at Greenville Senior High School!
Hilcias arrived from Mexico last semester. He is a junior and has been working very hard to learn “academic English”, because his intent is to go to college. We were working on “persuasive” essays from our Nat Geo Level A curriculum. This led to a conversation about what jobs students could do just around the time when Mr. Warren made the announcement about accepting applications for the Fed. Credit Union. I suggested that Hilcias submit his essay as part of the application process. He was called for an interview and was selected. He will be working this summer…..for pay!
I believe this shows how important our program is, and how viable we are in GCS.
Updated 4/5/24
Field Testing does not need to be added to ILAPs . Any accommodations that students currently have for the TDA on SC READY will apply for the TDW field test.
Updated 3/14/24
Scheduling for Current 5th and 8th Graders for the Next School (24-25)
Spreadsheets will be sent for the "next schools" from the MLP Office directly to Principals. The Principals will be asked to share with pertinent personnel. Scheduling instructions will be included in the email with a spreadsheet attached. The instructions will include that the scores are 2023 language levels and placement will need to be readdressed when the 2024 scores are recieved. The ML Comprehensive Scheduling Sessions coming up will support this process - April (middle) and May (high).
The spreadsheet will include the following:
Student Name, Next School, US School Entry Date, English Proficiency Level (LEP Field), and Literacy Scores
Note with Rising 9th Graders:
Course Recommendations are completed in Powerschool which will automatically send to High Schools. The high schools counselors use this to enroll students in courses/class periods. These must be completed by the middle level MLP teachers in PowerSchool.

ILAPS
As discussed in our December Monthly Meeting we need to ensure that our ILAPs are updated with current Assessment Accommodations for the Assessments each grade level takes. Please review your ILAPs.
If you have students showing up blank in the report you received from Kerry Culpepper that are at your school (have not moved), please ensure these students have Assessment Accommodations listed. If the determination of the team is that accommodations are not needed for Assessments, the student will still need to have "No Accommodations Needed/No ILAP on File" selected under the Assessment Tab.
Reminder: The assessments are listed per grade level in the ELLevation Landing Page in the link Testing Calendar. Please use the assessments listed on this Testing Calendar as you pick from the drop down in the ELLevation Assessment Tab.
Reminder: Do not use the Assessment labeled "District/Classroom Assessment". This assessment has a disclaimer at the bottom that asks you to contact your local school district for allowable accommodations when choosing this as an assessment. GCS does not use "District/Classroom Assessment" from the dropdown. GCS uses MAP and Mastery View Predictive Assessments, these are both in the drop down.
January 3rd PD
Please Click Here for the Flyer for our Jan. 3rd PD.
Note
Bring a fully charged laptop to the session. There will not be enough outlets available to charge computers during session.
Computers will have many updates over break. Please make sure to restart your computers before the session.

Attend the *Upcoming Instructional Coach PDs - Elementary 3:15-4:15 and Secondary 4:15-5:15
Updated 9/29/23
We have a few important updates and reminders. Read the following information carefully.
October 3rd PD
Janene Jackson, MLP Secretary, has reached out to all who were selected to attend the Oct. 3rd PD, Co-Planning: Five Essential Practices to Integrate Curriculum and Instruction for English Learners, from 9:00-3:30 at MT Anderson. If you received an email, please add this to your calendar. We are very excited. Come ready to be inspired and pumped up for co-teaching!
Secondary Supplementary Materials Needs Survey
Read the survey carefully and complete by October 6th.
ELLevation
As we finish all documentation tasks in ELLevation, here are a few reminders.
We are unable to use the Monitoring buckets in ELLevation to determine if we have all ILAPs complete with signature due to teachers being sent the ILAP multiple times via the schedule. These buckets will not supply you with correct information, since teachers only need to sign once and teachers that do not serve students directly do not need to sign.
Instead of looking at the “submitted forms” bucket, please use the directions on the ELLevation Landing Page to run a report of ILAPs with signature. Within the ELLevation Landing Page click on “Checking for ILAP Completion(including signature)” for directions.
ELLevation has stated there is not a way to remove a flag. We can only make a comment in the Notes Tab of the Student Profile.
We are thrilled that Alternate ACCESS is showing in ELLevation, however please double check that your scores are showing correctly before sending the PNL.
If you have to make changes to an ILAP, regenerate, and obtain signatures by sending the ILAP Confirmation Form, then the most recent copy of the ILAP will be a the top of the list in the Documents Tab.
Don’t forget that the directions for pulling State and District Testing Accommodations can be found on the ELLevation Landing Page.
Important: Don’t forget to complete the Google Form shared at our MLP September Meeting. This form was due on September 26th.

PowerSchool 45th Day
The 45th day is just around the corner! This 45th day state reporting/pull affects all aspects of our funding, testing, and support for MLs. All coding updates need to be provided to your clerks before October 3rd. Please refer to slide 13 from our September Meeting for the list of codes that need to be updated in PowerSchool. All clerks must have the information entered and ready for running reports, so give them all updates in the audit spreadsheets (highlight yellow the updates and changes) before October 3rd. No rerunning of reports will be allowed for the 45th day. Thank you for our diligence.
FYI-SYNC-Updates
If you are having problems downloading the tests and quizzes in the SYNC app. Mrs. Allred is kindly sharing with you these materials from Levels A & B that she downloaded at the end of last year before we switched to the new platform.
Level A https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bJ0TklnkrNit48_XoIGHhzzKaH4tIuUI/view?usp=sharing
Level B https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S9OL16tC_n8tEOSHpyugzVSOi3FEqGXW/view?usp=sharing
Mrs. Dani Zimmerman has noticed this about the e-assessments,
“I thought you might want to let everyone know that the online tests are not always scored correctly. I went back to review what the students had missed on a unit test, and the program did not give them points for some of the answers they got correct. We are able to manually adjust the points. Doing so greatly improved their score...so teachers should definitely look over the tests before posting a grade.”

September Monthly Meeting Slides and Recordings (Please read and view carefully)
ELLevation Updates (Important)
***ELLevation is back up and running for MLP Teachers and Content Teachers
Alternate ACCESS scores are now showing in ELLevation.
ILAPs should be created for all students whether they have accommodations or have No Accommodations needed (1.0-6.0, A1-A3).
If you make changes to an ILAP, you must 1. Indicate the changes made in the comments section of the orginal ILAP, 2. Regenerate a new ILAP, and 3. Obtain signatures on the newly generated ILAP. **This is a required process in order for the updated accommodations to appear on the accommodations report for STCs and to remain in compliance that all instructors agree and are aware of the updates.
MLP Teachers do need to sign the ILAP. At the secondary level, please only sign the ILAPs on your caseload. I apologize for the confusion on this issue.
(Secondary Only) For students at HSAP or MSAP Programs in Greenville County Schools, if the student shows in ELLevation for you, please complete documentation and share the documentation with the HSAP or MSAP program for signatures. If the student does not show in your caseload, please contact Kerry Culpepper.
Due on 9/26/23-Complete the following Google Form to confirm that all ILAPs have been generated and signatures have been obtained for all students in your buildings prior to 9/7/23
Click Here for Form Due on 9/26/23
The ELLevation Landing page has been updated with videos for creating Accommodations reports for STCs.
***Forthcoming, the materials Google Form for Secondary Curriuclum, to be added to the September Meeting Slides by September 19th
PowerSchool Updates
PowerSchool Coding was due on 9/7. Please ensure that your coding is complete for all required MLP Fields before the 45th day pull.
Please ensure that students in 3K and 4K with a language other than English on Part II of the Home Language Survey are coded correctly in the English Proficiency Code. 3K=10 and 4K=11
Upcoming PD
Elementary-September 19th, 3:15 Instruction for Consultative MLs with Elementary ICs
Secondary-September 19th, 4:15 Face to Face professional learning with Secondary IC and ML Specialist
Updated 8/29/23
Very Important….ILAP Reminders
This has all been shared in previous communication however I think it is timely to do a few reminders.
Each student’s ILAP should be created individually by looking at the students ACCESS for ELLs or WIDA Screener Data and the student’s performance in the classroom. ILAPs are individualized and accommodations should not be assigned en mass. For example, all students with an English Proficiency of 1.0 should not be assigned the same accommodations. You may choose to use the "batch assign" accommodations function after accommodations have been determined for each student individually.
When assigning accommodations for State and District Tests under the Testing Accommodations Tab, please use the document linked in the ELLevation Landing Page that provides the tests that each grade level takes during the year. Add each test that the student takes to the Testing Accommodations tab and either choose “no accommodations” or assign accommodations. Please do not add testing accommodations en mass.
Obtain the signatures of teachers that serve the student directly. Teachers only need to sign each ILAP once.
Update 8/28/23
ELLevation Functionality
If you would like to see all of your students on one page to make batch edits more efficiently, go to the lower right hand corner of the student list (beside the word “last”) and select the # of students to view per page.
ELLevation and Confirmation of Parent Notification and ILAP Completion
Two new tiles are being added to your ELLevation Dashboard. These tiles are for your use.
Click on the title of the tile “Parent Letters Not Sent”, to locate the names of students that do not have a Parent Letter generated. This is simply for your use in making sure you have all your students documents completed. We hope it will be helpful.
Click on the title of the tile “ILAPs Not Assigned”, to locate the names of students that do not have an ILAP generated.
ELLevation and Sending ILAP Confirmations:
Due to the nature of the way ELLevation is configured, the ILAP Email Notification will send to everyone on the student’s schedule. This sometimes results in duplicate emails. Tanya has shared communication regarding the matter with Principals.
