Our World Phonics Curriculum
The "Our World" Phonics Curriculum is to be used alongside the REACH in the USA curriculum to enhance the literacy and language development of our Multilingual Learners. These phonics skills include phonemic awareness, blending, and spelling instruction. The "Our World" Phonics Curriculum is designed to be taught over the course of three books-Phonics Book 1, Phonics Book 2, and Phonics Book 3- throughout the year.

The "Our World" Phonics Curriculum should be implemented daily for Newcomers in 1st-5th grades. It can also be supplemented to fill in the phonics gaps for our SLIFE students (Students with Limited and Interrupted Formal Education).

We recommend incorporating the following phonics instruction guidelines for Newcomer Multilingual Learners as part of the daily 45-minute Newcomer pull out:
1st-2nd Grades: 15-20 minutes daily
3rd-5th Grade: 10-15 minutes daily
