At Level 2, students can choose TWO Visual Arts courses.
Course Length: Full Year

In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of digital photography through an in-depth photographic investigation. Students will learn about the technical aspects of photography, including studio photography conventions, and will produce a final portfolio with a range of pathways for photographic investigation, allowing for a great deal of creativity and flexibility in topics.
COURSE COSTS
Students will be expected to pay a course contribution as part of this course. This covers the cost of specialist take-home materials, and the amount will be confirmed in 2026.
Students will have access to digital SLR cameras and lenses during class time, but having their own camera would be an advantage.

Internal Assessment, worth 4 credits
Achievement Standard 91321 v2 Visual Arts 2.4 - Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art making conventions and ideas within painting
External Assessment, worth 12 credits
Total credits available for this course: 16 NCEA Level 2 credits
