At Level 1 students can only choose ONE Visual Arts course.
This is a practical course aimed at developing a strong foundation of 2 and 3 dimensional art-making techniques and skills.
Students will explore art ideas, technical processes and artist models, whilst expanding their drawing and painting visual vocabulary.
COURSE COSTS
Students will be expected to pay a course contribution as part of this course. This covers the cost of specialist take-home materials, and the amount will be confirmed in 2026.

External Assessment, worth 5 credits
Achievement Standard 91915 v3 Visual Arts 1.4 - Create a sustained body of related artworks in response to an art making proposition
External Assessment, worth 5 credits
Total credits available for this course: 15 NCEA Level 1 credits
