Design and Visual Communication is about the interrelated strands of design thinking, visual communication, and design influences.
In this course, students will transform design ideas into potential outcomes that serve a specific purpose, providing innovative possibilities, informed by design influences and the designer’s perspective.
Visual communication addresses how design ideas and outcomes are appropriately presented to the viewer.
COURSE COSTS
There is a course contribution for this course of approximately $45. This will cover the cost of course material, and will be confirmed in 2026.

Achievement Standard 92000 v2 Design and Visual Communication 1.1 - Generate product or spatial design ideas using visual communication techniques in response to design influences
Internal Assessment, worth 5 credits
Achievement Standard 92001 v3 Design and Visual Communication 1.2 - Use representation techniques to visually communicate own product or spatial design outcome
Internal Assessment, worth 5 credits
Achievement Standard 92002 v3 Design and Visual Communication 1.3 - Develop product or spatial design ideas informed by the consideration of people
External Assessment, worth 5 credits
