Course Length: Full Year

This course will suit students looking at a pathway into the Building/Construction Industry, and is supported by ‘myBCITO’.
Students will undertake a project to manufacture a piece of furniture, before applying our knowledge and skill towards constructing a section of wall fit for purpose on a residential building.
The course uses a digital toolkit - designed for both teachers and students to help build students’ knowledge and prepare them to step into an apprenticeship covering a whole range of trades after leaving school.
COURSE COSTS
There is a course contribution for this course of approximately $160. This will cover the cost of course material, and will be confirmed in 2026.

Unit Standard 29677 v2 - Follow safe workplace practices, and contribute to a health and safety culture, in a BCATS environment
Internal Assessment, worth 2 credits
Unit Standard 29682 v2 - Select, use, and maintain tools, equipment and machinery for a Stage 3 BCATS projects
Internal Assessment, worth 4 credits
Unit Standard 29684 v2 - Undertake a Stage 3 BCATS project
Internal Assessment, worth 12 credits
Total credits available for this course: 18 NCEA Level 3 credits
