Receiving a purchase order allows you to accept the order and enter the items received into inventory.
You can also Invoice the purchase order so you can pay out for the items purchased
To Receive a Purchase Order:
Select the purchase order from the list of Active purchase orders
Once selected, select the Post button from the bottom of the screen.
You will be prompted to the Post Purchase Order screen.
Review the purchase order and adjust as needed prior to posting. You can adjust the following:
Qty - the quantity received
Unit Cost - the price you are paying for the item ordered
Item Price - the price you are selling the item ordered
Allowance - discount amount you are receiving for the item ordered
Once reviewed, select the Post button at the bottom of the screen and you will see the following options:
Receive - receive the items from the vendor
NOTE - will not close out purchase order, nor invoice. DO NOT DO THIS FUNCTION FIRST!
Invoice - create invoice to pay items to the vendor at a later time than when received
Receive & Invoice - receives items and creates an invoice together in one button function if you are planning to pay for the purchase order at time of receipt.
NOTE - Receive & Invoice will close out the purchase order when selected. If you Invoice the purchase order, purchase order will not close until you receive the items. You cannot do receive first, this will leave your purchase order opened and not invoiced.
