GRADE POINT AVERAGE
Grade point averages are calculated for each student at the end of each grading period.
Fort Madison High School employs two grade point scales:
Unweighted Grade Scale
A = 4.0
B = 3.0
C = 2.0
D = 1.0
F = 0
Weighted Grade Scale
A = 5.0
B = 4.0
C = 3.0
D = 1.0
F = 0
EXCLUSIONS
Certain courses are not included in the calculation of a student’s grade-point average. Those courses are:
Any course in which the grade reflects either “pass,” or “fail.”
Any course in which the regular outcomes have been significantly modified for an individual student.
