WORK EXPERIENCE

PREREQUISITE: CURRENT IEP

GRADUATION REQUIREMENT: NO

Students in 11th and 12th grade that receive Special Education services will have the opportunity to earn a credit while gaining on the job training and overall job skills. Work Experience provides the students with the chance to work in the community or within the building, with a multitude of positions, to learn what it takes to be successful in the working world.


TRANSITION ALLIANCE PROGRAM (TAP)

OPEN TO: 9, 10, 11, 12

PREREQUISITE: IEP, 504, DIAGNOSIS OF DISABILITY

GRADUATION REQUIREMENT: NO

CAPACITY: 30

The Transition Alliance Program is a partnership between FMHS and the Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services. TAP is a results-driven program with a focus on assisting students with disabilities becoming career and college ready. TAP participants receive year-round assistance in the area of vocational, education, and life skills services. TAP also helps participants develop positive work skills in order to find and keep employment. Once a students is part of TAP, they can be provided follow-up and ongoing support until the age of 25.
