Scheduling for the 2023/2024 school year will begin soon
SCHEDULE CHANGES
Each year, a new master schedule is created to accommodate students’ course selections. Students may modify their course requests at designated times throughout the school year. Students will receive course selection transcripts in the spring. Once a trimester has begun, schedule change requests must adhere to the following:
No drops will be permitted once a trimester has begun except for in extenuating circumstances.
Adjustments to student schedules during the school year will be based on available capacity. Schedules will not be altered to accommodate open campus privileges or so that students can be with their friends in the same class.
Students who fail a required course will make the course up during the following school year or during summer school, if available.
All schedule changes must be made with the student’s counselor, who will collaborate with the student’s parents, teachers, and administration.
Approval by a parent, teacher, and administrator may be necessary for some additions/deletions of a course.
PROGRESS REPORTS IN POWERSCHOOL
A student’s progress (academic achievement) scores in PowerSchool will represent a body of evidence of learning on agreed-upon standards and learning targets. In as pure a manner as possible, the scores in the electronic gradebook will represent your student’s abilities as they relate to those standards and learning targets.
PROCESS REPORTS
A student’s process (non-academic achievement) scores will represent a student’s abilities in the areas of promptness, preparedness, positivity, participation, politeness, and productivity. FMHS calls these factors the 6 Ps. These factors are certainly critical to the success of every student, and will be discussed in communication with parents, and at parent/teacher conferences.
