SPANISH 1

PREREQUISITE: PROFICIENT IN GRADE 8 ENGLISH

This course is an introduction to the study of the Spanish language and its culture. Emphasis is placed on the development of the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the target language. In addition to vocabulary development, students will learn how to conjugate verbs in the present tense, among other basic grammar points. 

SPANISH 2

OPEN TO: 10, 11, 12

PREREQUISITE: C OR BETTER IN SPANISH 1

GRADUATION REQUIREMENT: NO

Spanish 2 builds upon the reading, writing, and comprehension skills developed in Spanish 1.  Additional vocabulary is introduced with a quick review of terms and the verb tenses learned in Spanish 1.  Pronoun usage, the preterite and additional grammar points are presented also.
