In drawing, students will learn and refine basic drawing techniques such as shading and creating the illusion of depth. During Drawing, there will be an emphasis on the human figure, animals, landscapes, and various still lives. Students will concentrate on improving their drawing and shading techniques along with learning the value of color through the use of color pencils, charcoal, ink, and chalk pastels.
INTRODUCTION TO ART

Introduction to Art is an introductory course in the visual arts that is designed for students of all artistic ability levels who enjoy drawing and learning about art. Students will learn about communicating through images and designs, creative problem-solving in art, and developing better drawing and shading techniques. Students will be introduced to different mediums such as pencil, charcoal, pastel, ink, acrylic painting, clay, and watercolor.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL ART

Three-Dimensional Art is designed as a basic course to introduce students to various three-dimensional mediums, including: clay. A variety of methods and techniques will be taught, as well as design and creation, art history, and art appreciation. Introduction in the processes, correct use of tools, terms, and techniques will be provided. The course will be concerned with both the structural and artistic sides of building art in three-dimensions. Using a variety of materials such as paper mache, wire, metal, and clay, students will be presented with creative sculptural problems to solve.

Two-Dimensional Art focuses on all two-dimensional art piece mediums. The course includes discussion in the meaning, major forms, and components of two-dimensional art. Students will study elements and principles of design in creation of two-dimensional works, art appreciation, and history. Students will also be exposed to various media and techniques used in drawing, painting, and printmaking.
