This course offers many stimulating physical activities that will develop skills, knowledge, and total fitness that will contribute to the development of the “whole” student. This Program is designed to help students gain an interest in sports, recreation, and fitness for lifelong health and well-being, while learning responsibility, cooperation, teamwork, leadership, and developing social/emotional skills. One type of PE course is required during all four years of high school.
BASIC WEIGHTLIFTING

This class is for non-athletes only. This course offers many stimulating physical activities that will develop skills, knowledge, and total fitness in a weight room setting. This Program is designed to help students gain an interest in individualized workout activities, muscle strength and endurance, and fitness for lifelong health and well-being, while learning responsibility, cooperation, and developing social/emotional skills. Students will learn how to overcome exercise barriers, manage stress, and how a positive attitude towards physical activity can influence their lives. One type of PE course is required during all four years of high school.
COMPETITIVE PE

Athletic Enhancement Physical Education is for STUDENT ATHLETES (preference to in season) to promote lifelong fitness, decrease risk of injury, increase speed, increase agility, increase strength and explosiveness by focusing on coordination, athleticism, body-weight exercises, resistance training and proper running technique. One type of PE course is required for all four years of high school.
