Course description:
2 Unit 2 Year, BEC (Board Endorsed Course – non ATAR)
Photography and its products are integral to modern life. This subject is a skill based, whereby you will develop a range of skills essential for employment in creative industries and beyond. Students explore the technical medium through traditional analogue techniques in the Darkroom as well as exploring current Digital photography and post-production editing and publication methods.
There is a strong emphasis on developing independent and detail orientated work practices as students work towards building a professional Portfolio with examples of Modules studied.
Year 11 course topics:
Traditional and alternative analog photography Technical skills with the camera and post-production
Development of a Portfolio – physical, digital or web based
Emphasis on wet photo process, composition and camera skills
Year 12 course topics:
Thematic investigations into Portraiture, Journalism, Wildlife, Travel and Documentary Photography
Gain an understanding of careers involving photography
Emphasis on digital photo process
Film and animation explorations.
