Course description:
The Senior Drama course is an opportunity for students to use their imagination and turn it into action within our Drama space.
The Drama course includes improvisational games and developing group and individual performances.
There are other individual options including:
video making;
costume design;
set design;
lighting design;
script writing and many other choices.
60% of this course is practical.
40% of the course is based on four plays: two Australian and two others.
Logbooks are kept for all individual and group work.
This course is both theoretical and experiential, so while it is great fun, it is also demanding.
Skills you will master:
Explore ways of changing your physicality and voice to create different characters.
Develop collaborative skills by working closely with other students.
Learn how to write written responses explaining how playwrights convey meaning from stage to audience.
Develop skill in various ways to approaching a script and turning it into a coherent performance.
Assess your own engagement and development by keeping your progress in logbooks
Gain confidence by performing or experience in whatever Individual Option you choose

A logbook
A body and a voice.
Career opportunites:
This course will help you if you wish to become an actor, either on stage, or on the screen and, depending upon which Individual Option you choose, can also help you explore your talent as a designer, film maker or script writer.

Class workshops, interpreting scripts being studied
‘On-Stage’ at the Seymour Centre to see the best of the Group and Individual performances from N.S.W. schools in the prior year
Excursions to any plays or workshops relevant to the plays being studied
