The Video Note tool in Brightspace allows users to easily record videos (or audio files) within any text area they can edit.
Faculty can use video notes for a variety of purposes:
In Announcements to build and foster instructor presence
In Content to provide an introduction to a module or topic
In Discussion posts and replies to increase student engagement
In feedback to provide students with additional information or guidance
Students can use Video Notes
In Assignments, they can add video or audio as the assignment submission or add a comment to uploaded assignments
In Discussions, they can both post and reply with video or audio
In Brightspace email or Activity Feed, they can add a video or audio message
In Discussion posts/replies
Demonstrate learning
Teach each other
Practice speaking another language
In Assignments
3-minute thesis (3MT)
Explain a thinking process or revisioning process
Demonstrate a physical skill (e.g., how to take blood pressure)
Tell a story, perform a skit, describe a process, etc.
