Assessment is a natural part of our teaching process. When we teach, we have goals for our students' learning, and we measure learning through various assessments. After teaching, we reflect on how well our students met the learning goals and how we can adjust our approach to help them meet those goals.
This is the assessment process. It enables us to continually improve student learning in alignment with our CSS mission, vision, values, and purpose. Our purpose is encapsulated in our mission: to provide intellectual and moral preparation for responsible living and meaningful work. The assessment process tells us how well we are fulfilling our mission.
