Each 30-minute session will include a guided tour of a key feature, with suggested next steps to try the tool on your own. All sessions will be held via Zoom, and recordings will be shared here for those who wish to review the content or explore the tools at their convenience. Google Workspace for Education Plus Series: What’s New for Faculty?

Unlocking Google Workspace Education Plus | 10/13 10:30-11am

This is a short overview of the new features available in Faculty and Adjuncts CSS Google accounts. We’ll briefly go over all of the new features available and where you can find tools and tutorials to take advantage of these AI tools. 

Gemini in Google Slides | 10/27 10:30-11am 

Let’s walk through how to use Gemini integrated directly into Google Slides! Use Gemini to help you draft presentations from prompts, notes, or documents in your Drive. It is a huge timesaver to get to a draft if you already have an outline for your slides.

Gemini in Google Docs | 11/3 10:30-11am 

We’ll explore how to use Gemini integrated directly into Google Docs. This tool can be helpful to brainstorm drafts and reference other documents/resources in your Drive. Create content in seconds with Help Me Write (floating pencil/sparkle icon) and Gemini in the side panel of Docs.

Gemini in Google Vids | 11/10 10:30-11am 

Explore Google’s Video tool. Create polished videos with a simple text prompt or from existing slides. We will also explore video creation support resources from CTLA. 

Google Gemini & Gemini Notebook *formerly known as NotebookLM |  11/17 10:30-11am 

Explore Google AI tools built into your CSS account. Learn how to brainstorm and draft content using Google Gemini, and use Gemini Notebook to organize sources, answer questions, and generate custom study guides, flashcards, mind maps, and audio overviews. 

Brightspace Core Analytics

Brightspace Core Analytics are available right now to every instructor. These tools give you immediate reports of student activity. Join these sessions to learn how to access and use these tools for insights into your online course and data-driven decision making. 

Building Your First Intelligent Agent & Personalization | 11/24 10:30-11am  

Save time and boost student retention without adding to your workload. Automate course communication using Intelligent Agents in Brightspace! We'll cover how to automate messages, send targeted reminders for missed submissions, notify students about missing assignments, and check in on inactive learners. You'll also learn how to use replacement strings to keep messages personal to learners.  

Spotting Low Engagement with Brightspace Analytics | 12/15 10:30-11am 

Walk through how to access and interpret the Course Overview Widget, generating detailed, filtered reports to see where students spend time and spot underutilized resources. Then, we'll dive into the Class Progress dashboard: learn how to configure your 4 default performance indicators (out of 9 available, like login history, completion, and quiz performance) to match your syllabus goals. Finally, we’ll share resources to encourage students to monitor their Class Progress and access instructor feedback in Brightspace.
