Brightspace allows learners to submit assignments directly in Brightspace, eliminating the need to email their work to instructors. On paper submissions, and observed in person assignments are also available settings. Assignments can be linked to an item in the gradebook or not, so practice exercises or reading assignments can be assigned, but not graded.
This added feature in Brightspace from Bongo is powerful and poorly named. It actually allows you to create multimedia assignments for Individual Projects, Group Projects, Question & Answer (timed, video responses to questions), and Interactive Video assignments (watch then answer questions).
Students can create or upload videos, upload or link papers, and provide feedback to peers. Feedback is time-stamped on the original video (useful for instructors too). You can use this tool for skills demonstrations, peer review, presentations with or without visual aids, oral quizzes, Interview practice, language practice, compliance training, capstone projects, group presentations, roleplay activities, and foreign language conversations.
