Announcements keep students informed and engaged in course expectations, changes, and updates. Use this tool to reach out to your students with timely course news.
Keep them short! If you have a lot to share, attach or link a file, or record a video right there in the announcement!
How To
How To
Announcements are only available from your course Homepage. Students can see course Update Alerts inside D2L Brightspace, OR they need to sign up for notifications to view the announcement outside of your course. Attachments are NOT available in notifications.

Example welcome announcement:
Headline: Welcome to {OrgUnitName}, {firstname}!
The Home page has announcements and an activity feed to keep you abreast of assignments, changes, and other important information.
2. Click "Content" (top navbar) for course, information, and weekly modules/units. The first module, called "Start Here" will help you learn about Brightspace and the Course.
Go to "Activities > Discussions" (top navbar) to see a Q&A forum. Post any questions here. Perhaps a peer may have the same question or may have an answer!
