Skating Permission Form: Kindly sign and return your child's skating permission form by Monday, March 9th.
New Date! Scholastic Book Fair: Our class will be buying books from the Scholastic Book Fair on Monday, March 9th at 12:45 p.m. If you would like for your child to purchase a book, kindly send cash or a cheque (payable to Sherwood School) with them in an envelope, clearly labelled with their name and the amount enclosed in it. Please also put your child’s “wish list" in the envelope. Don’t forget to circle the title that they would like to buy.
If you already sent your child's method of payment and "wish list" in, I will give it to them prior to going to the Book Fair on Monday, March 9th.
Skating: Our class will be going skating on Tuesday, March 10th from 1:35 - 2:20 p.m. at the Cody Banks Arena, as part of our Physical Education curriculum. We will be leaving the school at 1:30 p.m. and returning by 2:25 p.m.
Parents are invited to help tie skates and enjoy a skate with our grade level. Please note that helmets must be worn on the ice by everyone.
Additional Copy of Second Term Report Card: If you wish to receive an additional copy of your child’s second term report card, kindly write me a note in their communication duo tang by Tuesday, March 10th.
Book Exchange: Our next book exchange will be on Thursday, March 12th, Day 2. Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Wednesday, March 11th, Day 1. Merci!
Onesie or Pajama Day: Students are invited to wear a onesie or pajamas and bring a stuffed toy on Thursday, March 12th. We will also watch a short French show while we eat lunch.
Second Term Report Card: Your child’s second term report card will be sent home with them on Thursday, March 12th. Kindly complete and return the slip enclosed with the it, indicating that you received it, by Monday, March 23rd. Merci!
Saint Patrick's Day Spirit Day: Students are invited to dress in green and white on Friday, March 13th in celebration of Saint Patrick's Day.
Saint Patrick's Day Party: Our class will be celebrating Saint Patrick's Day on Friday, March 13th by playing bingo and enjoying a snack together. I will provide a healthy snack that is individually wrapped in its original packaging and labelled as Peanut/Nut Free. Merci beaucoup!
Show and Share: All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice from home that complements our integrated theme of Occupations and Transportation for Show and Share on Friday, March 13th. Kindly assist your child to introduce themselves, identify their toy and describe its colours in French. The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:

Mid-Term Break: Kindly note that Friday, March 13th will be the last day of school before the mid-term break. The first day of school afterward will be Monday, March 23rd.
Free White or Chocolate Milk: The PEI School Milk program will be providing all students in our class with a white or chocolate milk free of charge on Friday, March 27th, as a token of appreciation for hosting a presentation by the program in our classroom.

Eye See…Eye Learn! Program: Kindly have your child take advantage of the Eye See … Eye Learn! Program before June 30th, 2026. The Eye See … Eye Learn! program is an eye health and vision awareness program which provides one free eye exam and, if needed, one free pair of glasses to all Kindergarten students across P.E.I. Please refer to the following link for further information:
Head Lice: Kindly check your child's hair for head lice regularly. Thank you for taking a proactive approach towards reducing the spread at home and at school.
Late Arrival: If your child is late for school, kindly remember that all doors are locked. Please walk them to the main doors to be buzzed in. The first morning bell rings at 8:25 a.m. and staff members only supervise students entering all doors until 8:40 a.m. Thank you for helping keep your child safe.
Parents to Speak about Occupation/Hobby: Parents, you are formally invited to speak to our class about your hobby or occupation. Kindly write me a note in your child’s Communication Duo-tang to schedule a 30 minute block. Merci beaucoup!
