Absence: Madame Erin Piltzmaker will be replacing me from Monday, June 8th until Friday, June 12th. Unfortunately, I will not able to check for email messages or take telephone calls on those date. Bienvenue, Madame!
Chocolate Bar Bingo Ticket Order Forms: Kindly complete and return the Chocolate Bar Bingo ticket order form that will be sent home in your child's zippered bag on Monday, June 8th as soon as possible (as there is a maximum number of tickets that will be sold).
Extra Recess: All Kindergarten to Grade 2 students will be treated to an extra recess on Wednesday, June 10th from 9:45 - 10:15 a.m. in appreciation and recognition of their efforts in _____.
Chocolate Bar Bingo: The Grade 6 leadership class will be hosting Chocolate Bar Bingo on Thursday, June 11th. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the bingo will begin at 6:30 p.m. Admission will be $5.00 per person, with a maximum of $20.00 per family. An adult must accompany participating child/children. Bingo players will also be asked to bring a regular-sized Peanut/Nut-free chocolate bar in exchange for one set of bingo cards (up to a maximum of 4 chocolate bars/sets of bingo cards). There will also be a canteen and bingo dabbers for purchase. All proceeds will go towards year end expenses for the grade six students.
Book Exchange: Our next book exchange will be on Friday, June 12th, Day 2. Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Thursday, June 11th, Day 1. Merci!
Teddy Bear Day: All students are invited to bring a stuffed toy and a towel on Friday, June 12th.
Teddy Bear Picnic: Our class will be participating in teddy bear themed outdoor activities with the other English and French Immersion Kindergarten classes on Friday, June 12th at either Centennial or Rosedale Parks. Kindly ensure your child is dressed comfortably for the weather, including a sun hat, sunglasses, t-shirt, shorts, socks and sneakers. Please also apply unscented sunscreen on them at home.
Show and Share: All students are invited to use their Teddy Bear Picnic stuffed toy for Show and Share on Friday, June 12th. Kindly assist your child to introduce themselves, identify their toy and describe its colours in French. The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:
Bonjour! Je m’appelle _____. Voici ma/mon _____. C'est _____. Merci!
Please remember to not send toys with your child on days other than Show and Share. Merci beaucoup!
Playground Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: Our class will be attending Sherwood School's playground ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, June 12th at 10:30 a.m.

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:
Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Nolan and our first assistant will be Tom this week.
Theme: Our theme will Farm Animals again this week.
Eye See…Eye Learn! Program: Kindly have your child take advantage of the Eye See … Eye Learn! Program before June 30th, 2026. The Eye See … Eye Learn! program is an eye health and vision awareness program which provides one free eye exam and, if needed, one free pair of glasses to all Kindergarten students across P.E.I. Please refer to the following link for further information:
Sun Hat/Sunglasses: Kindly pack a sun hat and sunglasses in your child’s backpack, if you would like your child to wear them during recess times. Merci!
Sunscreen: Kindly apply unscented sunscreen on your child at home, if you would like your child to have it on at school. Merci!
Sweater/Sweatshirt: Kindly send a sweater/sweatshirt with your child if your child will be wearing a t-shirt. Our classroom is climate controlled and can be cool at times.
Water Bottle: Kindly remember to send a filled water bottle with your child each day. Merci beaucoup!
Outdoor Free Play: As the weather gets warmer and sunnier, our class will start to walk to Centennial or Rosedale Parks more regularly for our free play time between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Kindly keep these times in mind, if you plan on picking your child up early from school. We will always be back to Sherwood School in time for the first afternoon dismissal bell rings, which rings at 2:35 p.m.
End-of-Year Field Trips
Victoria Park: Our class will be going to Victoria Park on Wednesday, June 17th. (The rain date will be on Thursday, June 18th.) We will be travelling by school bus, departing from the school at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 1:30 p.m. Kindly ensure your child is dressed comfortably for the weather, including a sun hat, sun glasses and a spring coat. Please also apply unscented sunscreen on them at home. Kindly also pack your child's water bottle, lunch kit, towel and full change of clothes (in a large Ziploc bag) in their backpack. We will be eating a picnic lunch at Victoria Park. It is sure to be a fun day for all!
Charlottetown Fire Department and City Cinema: Our class will be going to the Charlottetown Fire Department and City Cinema on Tuesday, June 23rd. We will be travelling by school bus, departing from the school at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 1:45 p.m. Kindly ensure your child is dressed comfortably for the weather, including a sun hat, sun glasses and a spring coat. Please also apply unscented sunscreen on them at home. Kindly also pack your child's water bottle, lunch kit, towel and full change of clothes (in a large Ziploc bag) in their backpack. We will be eating a picnic lunch at the Connaught Square Park. It is sure to be a fun day for all!
Payment for Field Trips: Payment for your child's field trips can be made online at Sherwood HotLunches or by cash until Wednesday, May 13th and Tuesday, June 23rd respectfully. If paying by cash, kindly send exact change in an envelope, clearly labelled with your child’s name on it and the purpose of the payment. The fee for your child to go to the Confederation Centre of the Arts will be $5.00 and our End-of-Year Activities $20.00.
Parent Chaperones for End-of-Year Field Trips: Our class will require a minimum of one parent chaperone for each of our end-of-year field trips. If you are able to accompany us on one of them, kindly write me a note in your child’s Communication duo-tang, indicating which one, and I will provide you with a letter to obtain a Criminal Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Screen free of charge. All parent chaperones are required to submit a Criminal Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Screen to the school’s office prior to the date of the field trip. The dates are below:
