Easter Monday: Kindly note that Sherwood School will be closed on Monday, April 6th as it will be Easter Monday.  

Easter Egg Show and Share Take-Two: All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice from home, that fits into a plastic Easter egg, to complement our integrated theme of Easter, for Show and Share on Wednesday, April 8th.  A plastic Easter egg was sent home with your child on Monday, March 30th, in their zippered bag. Kindly assist your child to introduce themselves, identify their toy and describe its colours in French.  The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:

Bonjour!  Je m’appelle _____.  Voici ma/mon _____.  C'est _____.  Merci!

If your child already brought in their plastic Easter egg with a toy in it on Thursday, April 2nd, I put it safely in an Easter basket in the classroom.  

Book Exchange: Our next book exchange will be on Monday, April 13th, Day 2.  Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Thursday, April 9th, Day 1.  Merci!

Professional Learning Day: Kindly note that Sherwood School will be closed on Friday, April 10th  as it will be a Professional Learning Day for teachers. 

Notes

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:

Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Avery and our first assistant will be Jackson this week.

Theme: Our theme will be Spring for the next three weeks.

Photos:  Most weeks, I took photos of learning activities that students in our class participated in.  I recently added some to the following page of this Google Site.  Kindly ask your child to tell you about them!

Reminder!  Rain or Shine Play: Students will be playing outside at recess, rain or shine, except in heavy rain or when the temperature reach a windchill of -20. Kindly ensure your child is dressed appropriately to play in all weather conditions every day.

Spring Coat: Kindly ensure that your child is dressed warmly for outdoor recesses each day, including a spring coat.  Recesses will be much more enjoyable for them if they are prepared for the weather.

Splash Pants/Rain Boots: Kindly have your child wear splash pants and rain boots daily until the ground dries out so that they do not get their clothes and shoes wet or muddy in the school yard.

Water Bottle: Kindly remember to send a filled water bottle with your child each day.  Merci beaucoup!
