Scholastic Book Fair: Our class will be buying books from the Scholastic Book Fair on Monday, November 17th at 9:00 a.m. If you would like for your child to buy a book, kindly send cash or a cheque (payable to Sherwood School) with them in an envelope, clearly labelled with their name and the amount enclosed in it. Please also put your child’s “wish list" in the envelope. Don’t forget to circle the title that they would like to purchase.
Jersey Day: All students and staff are invited to wear a jersey on Wednesday, November 19th to show their support for School Sport across Canada.
Show and Share: All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice from home for Show and Share on Thursday, November 20th. Kindly help your child prepare to talk to the class about their toy in French. This week, please help your child introduce themselves and identify their toy. The following sentence structure may be helpful to them: Bonjour! Je m’appelle _____. Voici ma/mon _____. Merci!
Book Exchange: Our next book exchange will be on Monday, November 24th, Day 2. Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Thursday, November 20th, Day 1. Merci!
Parent-Teacher Interviews: Thank you for scheduling your child’s parent-teacher interview online. I look forward to meeting with you on Thursday, November 20th or Friday, November 21st to discuss their progress to date.
Sherwood School Closed to Students: Kindly note that Sherwood School will be closed to students on Friday, November 21st due to Parent-Teacher Interviews.
Photograph of Fall Activity: Kindly email me one photograph of one of your child's immediate family members by Monday, November 24th. Your child will use the photograph in an integrated Families themed Show and Share on Friday, December 5th. Merci beaucoup!
Reminders
Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:
Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Jackson and our first assistant will be Maeve this week.
Theme: Our theme will be Families this week and next.
Assessment and Evaluation: I will be working with each student individually to assess their progress in fine motor, early numeracy and early literacy development again this week. Our daily routine will be adjusted slightly to accommodate this activity.
Dental Clinic: The School Oral Health Preventative Program (SOHPP) began operating at Sherwood Elementary School on Friday, October 31st. Kindly complete the consent form for preventative treatments at the following link:

Eye See…Eye Learn! Program: Kindly have your child take advantage of the Eye See … Eye Learn! Program before June 30th, 2026. The Eye See … Eye Learn! program is an eye health and vision awareness program which provides one free eye exam and, if needed, one free pair of glasses to all Kindergarten students across P.E.I.
