Book Exchange: Our first book exchange of the year will be on Monday, September 15th, Day 2. Please have your child return the Library book they will sign out by or on the next Day 1, Monday, September 22nd. Merci!
UPEI School of Nursing Students: Our class is pleased to welcome two second year students from the UPEI School of Nursing, Akeyo and Jody, into our classroom. They will be observing us over four days throughout September, beginning on Wednesday, September 17th. On Wednesday, October 1st, they will be running a Teddy Bear Clinic for us.
Meet the Staff: I look forward to seeing all parents/caregivers at Sherwood School's Meet the Staff night on Wednesday, September 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the school's gymnasium. This information session will be intended for parents/caregivers only.
Show and Share: All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice from home for Show and Share on the last day of each week. Kindly help your child prepare to talk to the class about their chosen toy in French. Our first Show and Share of the year will be held on Friday, September 19th. This week, please help your child introduce themselves. The following sentence structure may be helpful to them: Bonjour! Je m’appelle _____.
Kindly remember not to send toys with your child on days other than Show and Share.
Reminders
Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:
Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Maeve and our first assistant will be Max this week.
Theme: This week, our theme will continue to be Colours.
Breakfast Program: Sherwood School's Breakfast Program started and will run Monday through Friday from 8:05 until 8:35 a.m. All students are welcome to attend it.
Note! Earbud Headphones: Jackson's family purchased 1 pair of earbud headphones for each student in our class. There is no need to send a pair in your child's zippered bag, unless you would like them to use headphones other than earbuds. Thank you very much to Jackson's family for their generosity and kindness.
Punctuality: Sherwood School's first morning bell rings at 8:25 a.m, signalling the beginning of our Homeroom period. Kindly ensure that your child arrive at that time each day. If they arrive after the second morning bell, which rings at 8:40 a.m. and signals the end of our Homeroom period, they will be marked as Late. Thank you for supporting your child's regular attendance and punctuality as they are key to their academic success.
Have a great week!
